This impressive house occupies a secluded, private location at the end of a pretty single track road in a very scenic corner of the Isle of Skye. Claigan House dates from circa. 1830 and whilst it now has all the comfort of modern fittings and furnishings it manages to retain original character features in an abundance.
Having been totally refurbished over the last few years this property is an ideal ‘holiday retreat’ providing space and tranquillity for that perfect highland getaway. Claigan House benefits from an electric central heating system and is backed up with open fires.
New in House Washing machine, microwave and Sky free sat TV
The entrance vestibule is ideal for storing boots and outdoor coats and this opens into the reception hall. There is a large but very cosy farmhouse style kitchen/dining room with an open fire and guests will undoubtedly spend a lot of time sitting around the table beside the fire talking about the days events. There is a gas cooker, fridge and dishwasher fitted below the worktops.
Across the hall is the charming sitting room again benefiting from a large open fire and comfortable furnishings. A chandelier and attractive cornicing really gives this room a taste of bygone affluence. A music centre is provided.
There are two spacious bedrooms on the upper floor, a twin room and a double room. The bathroom is located between both bedrooms and comprises bath, WC and wash hand basin (there is no shower). A private gate provides access to the driveway and parking area at the front of the house.
Claigan is a small hamlet situated on the north west of the island some 3 miles north of the village of Dunvegan which is home to the world famous Dunvegan Castle. Dunvegan has good local services including shops, hotels and restaurants and is a central location from which to tour the Island. Claigan House is also within walking distance to the magnificent Coral Beaches, well worth a visit!
