Hawthorn Cottage is a modern, detached bungalow, offering very comfortable accommodation in the beautiful and dramatic landscape of the Trotternish Peninsula. Its elevated position, nearly 400 feet above sea level, provides breathtaking views over the sea to the Island of Rhona, the mountains of Torridon and the Scottish Mainland beyond.
The cottage is in the perfect location for exploring Skye, and has wonderful opportunities for hill walking on the Trotternish Ridge close by. The dramatic headland of Brothers Point, and the Kilt Rock Waterfall and view point are both just a short walk away.
The cottage is also conveniently placed for local amenities, both in the village of Staffin, some three miles to the north, and the Island’s Capital, Portree just a twenty minute drive away. Within walking distance of the cottage there is a small local restaurant ‘The Glenview’, serving locally sourced produce and a very warm welcome.
The nicely presented accommodation benefits from oil fired central heating and comprises :-
A very well equipped kitchen, with all the appliances you would expect, including an electric cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The washing machine is housed in the utility room.
The comfortable dining room has a dining table and chairs for six persons.
There is a large, very comfortable lounge with a feature fireplace, and huge bay window, from which guests have described the view ‘as an ever changing picture’. The lounge is equipped with TV and DVD player and has a small library of DVDs, books and games, for your entertainment.
There are three spacious bedrooms, two double and one twin. The master double bedroom also benefits from en-suite shower room. There is also a cot available for any infants in your party.
The spacious bathroom consists of a W/C, hand basin, walk in shower, and bathtub.
The large enclosed garden and a well placed picnic bench allow you to take advantage of the stunning views.
