With lovely open sea views across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides this typical highland cottage offers very comfortable and spacious holiday accommodation. The cottage has been nicely upgraded to offer every comfort required for a truly relaxing holiday.
The cottage is surounded by mature trees and shrubs and is enclosed with fences and a traditional old stone wall. Ideal for children to play. There is also a large drying area.
The entrance to the cottage is via the front porch which houses the central heating boiler and has plenty of hooks and boot space. This has direct access to the kitchen which is very well fitted out and includes a washing machine, electric ceramic hob with separate oven, dishwasher, stand alone freezer and separate fridge. There is also a microwave together with all other essential kitchen equipment.
Off the kitchen is the sitting room which has a comfortable sofa and chairs together with an LCD TV which has a Sky box and DVD player. One bonus of this house is the multi-fuel stove, for the chilly winter evenings, for which an initial supply of wood is provided. Further stocks can be purchased in the village where an honesty box system is in place. The cottage also benefits from oil fired central heating, which is included in the tariff.
From the lounge, you can walk through to the dining room, which has a 6 seater table, CD player/HiFi with iPod docking station. Patio doors lead to the garden area, which has a barbeque for your use on those warm, summer evenings.
There is a downstairs shower room which has a walk in shower area, ideal for visitors with mobility problems, with electric shower, wash hand basin and wc.
Bedroom 1 has views out over the Outer Hebrides and is a double room with waxed pine wardrobe and chest. Bedroom 2 is also a double and has storage facilities. Bedroom 3 is a twin bedded room with wardrobe, ideal for children. There is a cot available for infants.
The upper floor has another double bedroom with views across the Minch and has plenty of storage space; the first floor bathroom, which is very bright and airy, has a bath, wash hand basin and wc.
Herbusta is a typical crofting community located on the beautiful Trotternish Peninsular, which is an area of dramatic beauty, great walks and an abundance of wildlife.
The village of Uig is some 4 miles to the south and has good local services including a village shop and post office, hotels and a petrol station. Uig is also the ferry terminus for the Outer Hebrides with regular sailing to the Isles of Uist, Lewis and Harris.
Portree the Islands capital town is approximately 20 miles south of Uig and offers enhanced services and excellent shopping and dining opportunities.
